For forest, for people

For forest

The activities carried out as part of the Carbon Forests project have a positive impact on the existing forest stands. The introduction of fast-growing species, e.g. Douglas fir, as well as understoreys and the second storey, causes filling in the vertical structure of the stand, and also the increase the amount of biomass per area unit.

Collaterally, activities are carried out to protect the topsoil layers. They consist of partial preparation of soil, i.e. exposing only small parts of it. This results in lower CO2 emission, and, at the same time, does not radically change the living conditions of the fauna that exists there. All these activities are designed to increase the absorption of carbon dioxide and simultaneously to reduce its emission.

For people

Carbon Forests have a significant impact on the environment, including the living conditions of people who are not directly involved in subject issues. The funds obtained from the sale of carbon dioxide units auctioned under the project will be allocated for the implementation of undertakings related to the enlargement and modernization of tourist infrastructure, nature protection, biodiversity, as well as forest and historical education.
